Catacombs of Rome
The Catacombs of Rome (Italian: Catacombe di Roma) are ancient catacombs, underground burial places in and around Rome, of which there are at least forty, some rediscovered since 1578, others even as late as the 1950s.
There are more than fifty catacombs in the underground of Rome in which about 150 km of tunnels run.
The Colosseum
The Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheater, is an iconic ancient Roman structure built between 70–80 AD under Emperors Vespasian and Titus, funded by spoils from the siege of Jerusalem. It was designed for large-scale public spectacles—gladiatorial games, animal hunts, and simulated battles—holding 50,000–80,000 spectators. It was used for over 400 years.
The Pantheon in Rome is a premier ancient Roman temple, originally built by Marcus Agrippa around 27–25 BC and completely rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian between 118–125 AD.
